Dr. Sandilyan is a Ph.D in Tourism and Hospitality from IGNOU and earned his Masters in Tourism also from the same University. He has also completed M. Phil in Tourism Management from Madurai Kamaraj University. Dr. Sandilyan is a Tourism and Hospitality professional with over 25 years of experience. Having completed a Diploma in Hotel Management from IHM-Kolkata in 1995, he started his career with the Taj Group of Hotels as an operations management trainee. In his career he has worked with various prestigious organisations in the industry like P&O cruises, Jaypee Group of Hotels, as well as leading academic Institutions like IHM – Hyderabad, Bradford-Rex School of Hospitality & Management, Singapore etc. Having started as a Chef, Dr. Sandilyan is amongst a handful of chefs in the country to hold a PhD degree. Dr. Sandilyan has undergone several advanced learning programmes from Ecole Hoteliere, Lausanne and is also certified by EHL as a “Qualified Learning Facilitator”. Dr. Sandilyan has held various senior management positions like HOD for Hotel Management at KLEF – deemed to be University, Vice Principal at SRMIHM. In the industry he has been a General Manager for a QSR chain based at Bangalore as well as GM for SKHL – (An industrial catering corporate) Dr. Sandilyan has over 18 years of teaching experience and is well versed with Outcome Based Education. He has been holding the position of Professor for around 7 years and has published several research papers in both national and international journals. He has also got best research paper of the track award from NIT – Durgapur. Dr. Sandilyan has groomed over 3000 students in various UG and PG levels. He is passionate about teaching and is keenly interested in subjects like cooking, Travel & Tourism, Research.
